We are recruiting for full time Junior Cabin Crew vacancies at London Southend.   A fantastic opportunity is to join our London Southend base as cabin crew where you will deliver the Stobart Air brand values as well as outstanding customer service.   As a Stobart Air Cabin Crew Member you will be enthusiastic and passionate about our products and services and focus on putting the customer at the heart of everything you do.   Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operational safety, security and health and safety responsibilities are performed to the highest standards and are compliant with EASA, Stobart Air Standard Operating Procedures and all other relevant legislation
  • Maintain safety compliance at all times provided for through Safety & Equipment Procedures training
  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with our service standards
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures in accordance with relevant legislation
  • To be a representative of Stobart Air and adhere to our uniform standards at all times
  • To build effective working relationships with colleagues and service partners to work as one team

Essential Criteria

  • To be aged 18 or over at time of application
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Previous customer service experience (Desirable)
  • Hold a valid passport (with minimum of 12 months before expiry date) with the unrestricted right to live and work in the EU
  • To undergo a Criminal Record Check for all countries of residence for six months or more in the previous five years and be able to provide satisfactory references for the last five years
  • Ability to obtain and retain an airside pass
  • Be willing and able to work shifts covering 7 days a week, 365 days a year
  • Be willing and able to spend periods of time away from home and conduct stand-by duties in the proximity of your airport base
  • To wear the Stobart Air uniform to the required standard with no visible tattoos or body piercing. Tattoos or body piercings must never be visible on the body or through uniform clothing and cannot be covered up i.e. with make-up, plaster.
  • A verifiable 5-year employment history
  • Successful candidates will also be required to secure a criminal record check in accordance with regulatory requirements

Physical Criteria

  • To be medically and physically fit to meet regulatory and role requirements, if successful, you will be required to attain an EASA Medical Assessment prior to commencement of the training course
  • Comfortable to tread water unaided and must be able to swim 25 metres unaided
  • You are able to pull a fully laden trolley weighing up to 72kg (11.5st)
  • You are able to fit into an aircraft jump seat harness without a seatbelt extension
  • You are able to lift a weight up to 28kg (4st). This is so that you are able to lift an emergency overwing window and quickly exit the aircraft
  • You are able to stay calm and deal with emergencies and take control of people when required

Aer Lingus is Ireland’s only 4 Star Airline, which is part of the Worldwide IAG Group. Successful applicants will be based in the cosmopolitan city of Dublin, Ireland for a fixed term contract in 2018.

As Cabin Crew you can potentially earn between €1,700 and €1,900 monthly take home pay (inclusive of base and variable pay on a monthly average throughout a Summer season*).

Cabin Crew training is provided at Aer Lingus in-house Training Academy, Iolar House, located in the heart of Dublin Airport. Throughout your training you will learn a wide range of topics from theoretical and practical components, health and safety procedures through to grooming and guest experience. Cabin Crew who train at the Training Academy are paid a training salary, so you can earn as you train.

REQUIREMENTS

Am I eligible to Apply? To apply you will need to meet all of the essential criteria outlined below:

  • 18 years of age or over
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • No tattoos/piercing visible when in Aer Lingus uniform
  • Flexibility and able to work shifts, unsociable hours, weekends, holidays and overnights
  • Eligible to live and work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction (i.e. EU Passport Holder or Non-EEA Citizen holding Stamp 4)
  • Hold a valid EEA passport allowing unrestricted worldwide travel
  • 12 months combined experience in a face to face customer service/sales role
  • Between 5’2″ (157 cm) – 6’2″ tall (188 cm), weight-height in proportion & can reach up to 6’3 (191 cm)
  • You must be able to swim 25m unaided and tread water for at least 1 minute
  • Able to pass an airport security vetting procedure, including a five-year background check*
  • Two verifiable references

*You will need to be in possession of a current police disclosure certificate from your home country. If you have lived outside your home country for more than 6 months you will also be required to hold a current police disclosure certificate from that country/countries
