As a result of our recent announcement to in-source our Line Maintenance activity at LGW, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for Aircraft Mechanics to join the Line Maintenance Team. As a Mechanic you will perform defect rectification and routine servicing as directed by the Duty Engineer or Certifying Licensed Aircraft Engineer in accordance with approved maintenance documentation. easyJet maintain the highest safety standards possible and as part of your role you will ensure that the planned in house maintenance activity supports both regulatory standards and easyJet’s industry leading safety and technical standards.


>    To perform aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by the Duty Engineer or Certifying Licensed Engineer.

>    To ensure all work requiring a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) is completed as required by the MOE, EASA Requirements and NAA regulations.

>    To ensure that he / she is fully conversant with accomplishing the tasks allocated to him / her and to seek guidance in any area of task that he / she is not familiar with.

>    To conduct a thorough verbal handover of any partially completed tasks, either being taken on or passed on.  Ensuring that all documentation is completed as far as possible.  Partially completed tasks should only be accomplished in logical stages.

>    To report to the Duty Engineer or Maintenance Manager any defects or conditions considered to represent a safety risk.

>    To adhere to all pertinent safety precautions and procedures as published in manufacturers, Company and other relevant publications.

>    To comply with known and notified health and safety requirements.

>    To ensure that all facilities, tools and equipment are satisfactory for the tasks to be completed and that any defects are notified to the Certifying Technician, Duty Engineer or Maintenance Manager.

>    To comply with Station Standing Instructions.

>    To accept other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be requested by the Certifying Licensed Engineer, Duty Engineer or Maintenance Manager.

>    Carry out all scheduled tasks assigned by the Duty Engineer in accordance with the approved maintenance documentation

Requirements of the Role


>    To demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of applicable airworthiness legislation.

>    Ideally hold a time served apprenticeship and operational experience in a line maintenance environment

>    High degree of customer focus – both internal and external

>    Able to work effectively in a team in all levels of the organisation

>    Willingness to be flexible to meet deadlines and overcome operational problems

>    Demonstrate a working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation

>    Demonstrate technical knowledge of aircraft and hand skills required to carry out tasks.

>    Ability to use aircraft maintenance documentation and computer based reporting and recording systems

This full-time role will be based in Gatwick working NNNN 10.75 hour shifts. Shift pattern will 4×4 with occasional travel requirements to easyJet’s headquarters or network locations.
