Location: Spain

Reporting to the Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC) Manager, Barcelona, The Flight Planner will be responsible for the route planning and execution our fleet across our Norwegian network and duties will include but not limited to:


Tasks and responsibilities
• Calculate and issue Flight plans for the Norwegian fleet, using LIDO flight planning system.
• Ensure their accuracy and compliance with Company policies and Regulatory Authorities such as CAA, EASA and FAA.
• Monitoring the operational environment through NOTAM’s and Aeronautical publications.
• Use tactical information such as the Central Flow Management Unit (Eurocontrol) CHMI & NOP portal, used to monitor slots, airspace and airfield restrictions in a real time environment.
• Manage flight planning requirements in a time critical manner with situations such as diversions, ATC delays, MEL restrictions, engine restrictions plus others.
• Liaising with Crew, Ground stations and ATC to ensure best standards are upheld and aircraft performance requirements are met.
• Liaising with relevant departments to ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to for the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft.

•In flight monitoring and communications to satisfy pilot demand when required.



• Experience as Flight Planner from an Airline Operations Control Centre.
• Proven knowledge of ETOPS operation.
• Proven knowledge of the complexity and regulations of airline operation.
• Experience with flight planning applications and software, preferably LIDO.
• Analytical skills related to aircraft performance.

• Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office software.

• FAA license preferred, but not essential.

• Self-motivated, extremely flexible and willing to work shift work including night shifts
• Excellent communication skills and situational awareness
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Able to work independently and also in a multi national team environment

• Eligible to work in the EU and Fluent in English – written and spoken
